our philosophy

A love for learning through play

We work hard to bring out the best in all the children in our care, providing lots of tools, routines and resources to make their days busy, happy and stimulating. Using the curriculum guidelines laid down in the statutory Early Years Foundation Stage, we plan daily activities appropriate for each age range to encourage learning and development through play. Our children get lots of positive encouragement; they learn practical and creative skills, how to share and concentrate, good table manners and lots of other social and educational skills that provide love for learning and a firm foundation for life.

The professionals teaching and supporting your child will make sure that

the activities are suited to your child’s unique needs.

our curriculum

Our curriculum covers all areas of learning and development within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. These areas are particularly crucial for igniting children’s curiosity and enthusiasm for learning, and for building their capacity to learn, form relationships and thrive.

early years foundation

stage framework

Together with all nurseries, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework to focus on the needs of children from birth to 5 years old. Play is a crucial element, it also outlines the legal welfare requirements that everyone registered to look after children must follow to keep your child safe and promote their welfare.

The EYFS framework sets out the characteristics of effective learning to help the child become an effective and motivated learner.

space to grow

As well as the EYFS curriculum, we offer a wealth of additional activities for our little ones. This includes dressing up areas, craft areas, construction, small world areas and story corners for reading, quiet reflection or for playing musical instruments. We also take the children on short excursions to local places of interest to explore the world outside the nursery. We are  lucky to have the Fairy Hill Park located just behind the nursery, therefore trips to the children playground are a must.

All children enjoy the garden throughout the year. As well as running around and playing on the equipment, we also provide yoga and dancing sessions.

food & nutrition

The nursery provides breakfast, supper and snacks throughout the day. Lunch is provided by parents and heated at the nursery. They eat well and learn to socialise at the same time as children sit in small groups and eat alongside staff members who are on hand to help.
